Google Music is live in Android Market! You can download it by searching for Google Music, or by looking through all applications by Google Inc.

Google Music allowed users to upload up to 20,000 music files to the cloud, and then stream them OTA to each of their devices. This allows users to have all of their music in one convient cloud storage location and stream it easily to all of their Android Devices.

The interface for the new Google Music application is strongly representative of the new approach to the Android User Interface in Ice Cream Sandwich. The interface has a strong visual appeal and behaves much like the Google Music Player on Honeycomb on the Motorola Xoom (See attached screenshots).

Google Music will also allow users to cache songs on to their SD Card in order to listen to music when without internet access. This will allow users to wirelessly sync music with their PC.

That isn’t all! Google Music will also be releasing a standalone application for the PC which will allow users to sync content, create playlists, and download music in direct competition with iTunes. This is a huge step for Google and will also make the Android Platform much more appealing for music centric users. No longer will an Android user need a third party application to easily sync and control his music library. Instead Google has an app for that!

Google Music’s streaming service will be free while in beta, though we are unsure whether it will remain that way after it’s official launch. This will be a strong competitor to services like mSpot Music or Amazon Mp3 Cloud Drive because of it’s native integration in the Android OS and it’s free price point.

I am hugely excited for this new platform and Android Tapping will be releasing a full review of the Google Music Application as we receive access to the Google Music streaming beta. So in the meantime keep your eyes on our website for more Google I/O information!
